Diploma in Law

Introduction

The SACL Level 3 Diploma in Law is a 60-credit Ofqual regulated qualification and is the equivalent level to an A Level or Access to HE qualification. It has been designed for learners who wish to progress to a law degree but may not have the traditional entry qualifications usually required. The qualification provides learners with an introduction to law and the legal system as well as key academic, research, and communication skills to support learners in their development.

This is a core qualification available to existing and interested centres of SACL.

Grading

Graded with Pass, Merit and Distinction.

Advanced learner loans available in the UK

Progression to a bachelor degree at a range of university partners

Delivery Mode

This qualification can be delivered either in the classroom, via distance learning, or blended.

Typical Age

This qualification is designed for learners who are typically aged 16+ and above.

Entry Criteria

SACL requires no prior qualifications to study Level 3 Diploma in Law.

Learners must complete all 4 mandatory units.

The English Legal System To provide an overview of the English Legal System and prepare learners for more substantive study in areas of English law. 15 Yes
Contract Law Learners will develop knowledge and understanding of different aspects of contract law. 15 Yes
Legal Terminology and Communication Learners will gain knowledge and understanding of how organisations work in the legal sector and be able to develop communication skills using legal terminology. 15 Yes
Academic and Research Skills for Law To develop academic research skills and the language skills needed to be able to formally present academic research in a legal context, both in writing and orally. 15 Yes
